Teacher Guides
Explicit, systematic, multi-modal instruction in daily 20-30 minute lessons
3-Part lesson structure: Warm-Up: Students reread the previously read decodable text, review sound-spelling and high-frequency words or engage in phonological awareness training
Multimodal Mini-lesson: e.g., blending, word building, dictation, and vocabulary and content knowledge development through the Read Aloud Cards.
Application to Reading and Writing: Students read a new decodable text and write about it.
Student Books
Application is where the learning sticks. Every day, students read decodable texts in their student book. These texts include ample words for the target skill as well as plenty of review skills. Students will also write about each text.
Read-Aloud Cards
Build vocabulary and content knowledge through read-alouds that provide students opportunities to build content-rich vocabulary.
Quick Phonics and Spelling Assessment & Phonological Awareness Kit
Use to quickly and accurately diagnose students’ strengths and instructional needs.
Formative Assessments
If/Then assessments are built into the instruction at the midpoint of the unit to determine if student should move forward or needs to continue within the same unit.
Manipulatives
Picture Word Cards, Vocabulary, Word Cards, High Frequency Word Cards, and Student Workmats support phonics and knowledge building with hands-on resources.
